5 Golf Tweeters We Love
We all know that social media is here to stay. What better way to follow along during your favorite tournament than to keep your Twitter stream to find out all the best info.
We are big fans of Twitter at Breaking Eighty, and have found a couple of active tweeters that we just love to follow. Each of these people not only showcase some pretty entertaining posts, but they also let us in on a ton of behind the scenes info on what really goes on in the world of golf.
If you want to follow anyone on Twitter from the golf world, we highly recommend our top 5 golf personalities on Twitter.
Christina Kim – @TheChristinaKim
If LPGA Professional Christina Kim wasn’t a golfer, then my guess is she would be a social media executive. A prolific tweeter, with almost 40,000 tweets, she is absolutely a must follow.
Because she posts so much, she gives a true behind the scenes look at what goes on in the life of a professional golfer. You see her happy moments, the injuries and the complaints, it’s all there.
What we really love about her, though, has to be her sense of humor, it’s hard not to chuckle reading many of her posts.
Hank Haney – @HankDHaney
Hank Haney is one of the most legendary PGA pros around. He has coached countless professional golfers to success and there are probably few out there who know more about golf instruction than he does.
Lucky for us, Hank isn’t hiding all those golf secrets. He spends much of his time on Twitter answering his followers questions, critiquing their swings and offering advice for improving the game.
If you want that extra bit of insight into really improving your game that you couldn’t get from anyone else, Hank is worth a follow.
Matt Ginella – @MattGinellaGC
Matt is one of the go to on course reporters for the Golf Channel, so if you guessed that it means he has a pretty awesome life inside the ropes, you’d guess correctly.
He gives a great view of some behind the scenes info from the tour and life as a golf reporter, and he also is pretty awesome with followers, spending a lot of time answering questions on courses and giving tips on the best places to grab lunch in Augusta.
If you want a view of golf from the guy on the ground, Matt is who you want to keep you up to date.
Graeme McDowell – @Graeme_McDowell
On the men’s side of the game we love seeing tweets from PGA Tour player Graeme McDowell show up in our stream. If you want to follow a professional athlete who actually responds to his fans, Graeme is the guy you want to keep up with.
I have never seen a professional take the time to answer as many questions and posts as he does, which I think is pretty cool. I’m always interested to see what athletes love outside their own sport, and Graeme is not shy about posting on everything from the NFL to go-kart races.
One of these days, we’ll have to Tweet him and see how long it takes to get a response!
Kirk Oguri – @KirkOguri
Kirk knows just about everything there is to know about golf gear. He is well known as one of the best club fitters and equipment specialists in the world. If a pro needs something tweaked on his or her clubs, Kirk knows exactly how to do it.
Because of his specialized experiences, Kirk is a really interesting follow on Twitter. He answers a lot of his followers questions on specific clubs and talks quite a bit about his own experiences testing out gear.
If you want to really expand your understanding and knowledge of your clubs, consider following Kirk.
