The Jones Player Series bag is one of my favorite bags on the market.
It’s beautiful, has high-end leather and metal touches.
It’s lightweight.
And it just oozes cool factor in that vintage, throwback kind of way.
But it’s not for everyone.
In fact, it’s probably not for most people.
In this video I go into all the details of why this is, what I like, what I don’t, and if it’s a bag you should consider buying.
Want an old school Sunday bag for those twilight emergency nines? This is it. This is a throwback bag that's as pure as it gets. You won't use it for every round, but for those you do? It's a special experience.
A beautiful, well built bag, at a solid price. But it won't be for everyone.
The Jones Players Series bag is one of the best carry bags on the market. It has high end touches, and is a joy to carry. But it's not great for full sets, or those who need the creature comforts most modern bags provide. That said at $200, or about 1/5th the price of a MacKenzie carry bag, it represents a wonderful value for what it is.
The Good
- Build quality that seems better than it's $200 price point
- They nailed the colorways for this bag
- More storage than I expected their to be on such a minimalist bag
The Bad
- No modern features like stand, cooler, or double strap
- Probably not going to want to use a full set of clubs
