What do you think of when I say the word Whoop? If you’re like me, the first thing that comes to mind is probably the early 90s song Whoomp, There It Is by the illustrious Tag Team. But no, I didn’t say Whoomp, I said Whoop. I’ve been getting ads for Whoop served to me for the better part of a year, and ever since I first heard about it, I’ve been curious. They’ve got major celebrities like Justin Thomas singing it’s praises, and every time I see an ad, check out their glossy looking website, I wonder “is the Whoop really better than…

These days we have no shortage of places to rely on for on course distances and information. Tools like Arccos Caddie have completely changed how we look at information about a golf course. Rangefinders are more accurate and feature heavy than ever. And even basic GPS apps on our phone have made getting precise distances to hazards or greens as easy as clicking a button. Which begs the question, is there any use for a yardage book or green book anymore? Like a real, paper, analog book…that you keep in your pocket? Well, there’s a reason that every pro carries…

Being from the Pacific Northwest, one of the very last places I’d ever think about visiting or taking a vacation would have to be Bermuda. Honestly, I’ve never known much about the country aside from the fact there’s a line about it in a Beach Boys song, there’s a scary triangle around it where people die, and more recently, that it’s home to one of the best golf courses in the world: the Mid Ocean Club. But when you start thinking about the fact it even exists in the first place? You begin to realize how unique it is. Bermuda…

Use the code “Breakingeighty” for 15% off any order at SIC! As you can imagine, I get offered a lot of stuff to review. Most of it, I pass on or let them know very clearly, if they send something, I can’t guarantee I’ll write anything about it. Months ago, Erik the founder of SIC Cups, or “Seriously Ice Cold” water bottles offered to send me some of their golf ball patterned water bottles. I told him he was welcome to send them over, but that I wouldn’t be able to make any promises on a review. A week later…

So this review is about 3 years in the making and is specifically for the dudes out there. Let’s rewind a few years and go back to the first time I was introduced to Bn3th performance underwear. My buddy Rob has a connection with them, and he’s like “you’ve gotta try them out, hands down best underwear ever.” I got a few pairs and proceeded to wear them both day to day, and while golfing/working out. And I’ve gotta say, they were great! Super comfortable, great fit, and performed well. However, there was one complaint, and for golfers this was…

Growing up, I wasn’t a golfer. I was a tennis player. My mom was a tennis fanatic, so from the age of 7 that’s what I did. I always had an interest in golf, but there weren’t many opportunities to go out and play. Growing up playing tennis however, was one of the bests gifts I received as a kid. Not only is it a sport I can play for a lifetime, but the lessons I learned growing up at a tennis club are some that have served me ever since. Learning things like manners, etiquette, and how to interact with adults…

There are a lot of products in golf that the average person might look at as a commodity. For instance, generally speaking a golf tee is a golf tee. No matter how good it looks, or how fancy you make it, it really isn’t going to affect your game all that much. While golf gloves aren’t quite to the level fo a golf tee, I always kind of threw them in the same boat. You might have some Nike gloves that feel a little more tech oriented, or the very traditional Titleist leather glove – but overall, as long as…

It was 5pm the night before I was scheduled to leave on a 4 day trip to Bandon Dunes. The line up was incredible. We had an afternoon round on the Sheep Ranch on Thursday. Back to back Pacific Dunes and Bandon Dunes rounds on Friday. Another Sheep Ranch round Saturday, followed by my personal favorite, Bandon Trails. And a final round on Old Mac to close things out Sunday. It was a perfect Bandon Dunes trip, and one I’d been excited to make for a long time. And then I got the text: “Dude, I’m so sorry to do…

After two years of waiting patiently, it’s finally here: the Sheep Ranch at Bandon Dunes is now open for resort play. I could hardly contain my excitement as I made the 4-ish hour drive down from Portland. A day that was supposed to be full of rain was shaping up to be dry after all, and my 3:50 tee time would have me hanging over ocean top cliffs right as the sun was setting. You probably have a lot of questions. Does the Sheep Ranch live up to expectations? How does it compare to the other courses at Bandon? Is…
