I walk more rounds than I ride.
But I still frequently use a cart at many resort courses, and I also use a push cart most of the time that I walk. And in both use cases, especially riding of course, a cart bag is an extremely nice thing to have.
I’m a pack rat. I love to load up a golf bag. Give me pockets, and I’m gonna fill ‘em. It’s part of the fun, and truly the work, of doing this job of testing lots of different golf tech gadgets, golf apparel, and gear.
So I’m the perfect candidate to take full advantage of a cart bag, which affords you so much more room. The kind of room that allows you to bring multiple layers, rangefinders, speakers, gloves, rain gear, and so on and so forth.
It’s a luxurious way to play golf. And for as much as I love the minimalism of walking and even carrying, I’m not gonna lie, if I’m riding in a cart, it’s fun to fat cat it.
So, these are the golf bags that I personally think are the best when you’re not concerned with weight or size. When you want to bring what you want to bring and never have to worry about something not fitting.
Not only do I like these bags for their storage capacity, but I like each of them for multiple other reasons, including things like style, build quality, interesting features, and an assortment of other considerations.
So, let’s take a look at my top five golf cart bags of 2026.

Best Luxury Cart Bag: Vessel Lux Cart 2.0 Pro
If you want the absolute best cart bag money can buy, I think this is it. This is the bag that makes me want to be a cart guy.
Vessel has been making some of my favorite bags in golf for years. The Player series has been a personal go-to. So when they released the updated Lux Cart 2.0 and 2.0 Pro, I knew they’d deliver.
And they definitely do.
These are beautiful golf bags with the highest quality materials and most attention paid to each detail. Things like leather accents, super-smooth zippers, velour-lined pockets, and really premium-feeling materials throughout the entire bag.
The standard Lux Cart 2.0 normally retails for $489, and has 21 pockets.
The Pro bumps that up to 30(!) pockets and adds about a pound of weight. It costs $519, but and you’ll very occasionally see it discounted around the holidays.
Do you need 30 pockets? Probably not.
But here’s what I’ve found really useful about the Pro. The pockets are mirrored on both sides of the bag, so whether you’re driving or riding shotgun, you can access your valuables, garments, or whatever else you’re carrying from either side.
You can get either the Cart 2.0 or 2.0 Pro in a 7-way or 14/15-way top. I personally prefer a 7-way because I’m just not disciplined enough to return my clubs to the exact same place each time. But if you’re the opposite, the 14-way is there.
This bag also includes thoughtful touches like a discreet AirTag pocket and a dedicated spot for any jewelry. Little things that show you that they definitely thought a lot about how golfers were going to use these bags.
To me, this is the gold standard. Don’t get me wrong. There are other very nice cart bags out there, and the best of them are the following on this list. But I think if you’re looking for the classiest, most elegant and most functional all in one, Vessel nailed it.

Best Value: Big Max Dri Lite Prime
This might be the most underrated cart bag on the market.
Big Max is huge in Europe, but almost nobody in the U.S. knows about them. That’s a shame, because they’re delivering serious quality at a price that undercuts most of the competition.
The Dri Lite Prime costs $349, which, for all that it gives you, I think is a really good price.
Big Max uses SoftGuard PU, which is a vegan leather that feels a lot more luxurious than I expected. It’s soft, textured, and honestly just a really nice surface to touch.
It’s also really easy to clean. A damp cloth and probably about a minute is all you need.
But let me tell you, this thing attracts dirt like crazy. That textured surface is like a dirt magnet. So if you play a lot in dusty, windy conditions, you’re definitely going to notice it on this golf bag, and it might not be the right choice.
The Dri Lite Prime has 10 pockets and a 14-way top with full velour lining. It’s actually a very nice, luxurious-feeling top.
Where the Big Max falls short is in some of the details. There’s no oversized putter well, which is becoming standard on cart bags. And the structure isn’t quite as rigid as on something like the Vessel or Ghost options.
But for $349, I think it’s a steal.
I think it’s a good-looking bag, and I like that it’s not all junked up with logos. So if you’re looking for something a little more understated and not the same thing as what everyone else has, this is a nice option at a good price.
It's not inexpensive, but for what it is and what it does, this might be a steal compared to other cart bag options. Big Max is a brand big in Europe but still a sleeper pick in the States. Discover the bag you didn't know you needed.
Best for the Social Golfer: Sunday Golf Big Rig
The Big Rig is about bringing the good times.
It’s completely functional, really well constructed, and was a bag designed based entirely on real golfer feedback.
Sunday Golf solicited feedback from its customers about what they’d want in an ultimate golf bag. And a lot of those requests revolve around luxury, comfort, and fun, which is really what a cart bag should deliver.
This is Sunday’s first cart bag, and it’s kind of hilarious coming from a brand whose identity before this was built around minimalist Sunday bags. Going from tiny, lightweight bags to the Big Rig definitely took me a second to get used to. But I have to say, they pulled it off.
The Big Rig has 12 pockets, including the famous “Frosty Pocket” that holds seven 12-ounce cans and a “smell-proof” pocket for… well, whatever you want to keep smell-proof.
I think this is a bag for golfers who prioritize fun. If you’re the guy who shows up with a cooler full of drinks and likes to make your rounds social, the Big Rig is built for you.
That said, this bag is legit. It’s not some party trick. It’s a very nice, totally functional cart bag.
The build quality is noticeably better than Sunday’s other bags, but it’s not quite at the level of Vessel or Big Max. Some of the pockets are too deep, and the main handle feels slightly flimsy for a bag of this size.
But the retail price for this bag is only $309.99, and it typically sells for $2..79.99. Click this link, and you’ll get a pop up for a code that will discount it to $238. At that price, I think the Big Rig could have been named Best Value.
I don’t think this is the right bag for serious, competitive golfers. But neither are most cart bags. And I also don’t think the Big Rig is right for people who want a refined, luxury product.

Most Unique: Ghost Golf GT-14
If there’s one thing about the Ghost Golf brand in general that doesn’t quite fit with my personal taste and style, it’s that their bags are just too loud. Way too many logos for me, and the colorways are too bold.
But for a lot of golfers, that’s exactly what they want. And if that’s you, this is an outstanding product.
In terms of quality materials, bag construction, overall fit, and finish, this Ghost bag is exceptional. So if the aesthetics aren’t a turn-off for you, there’s really not much that you won’t love.
The bag’s made out of premium polyurethane leather that’s abrasion and water-resistant. The 14-way dividers are velvet-wrapped with full-length separators. The zippers are robust and smooth.
The GT-14 has 11 pockets, including three insulated pockets for beverages plus two water bottle sleeves. That’s a lot of beverage storage. Sunday Golf isn’t the only brand tapping into the party-on-the-course vibe.
The bag also includes rubber feet on the base so it won’t slip when it’s freestanding. Even fully loaded, it feels sturdy.
Regular retail is $475, which feels a bit steep, but the quality is definitely there.

Most Classic: Jones Rider Bag
Jones is a classy, classic, minimalist bag brand. And cart bags don’t necessarily fit what you might think of for that brand’s sensibility.
But if you want something that feels more like an old-school design and is more about understated quality than any big obvious features, take a look at the Jones Rider.
This is a minimalist cart bag, which may sound like an oxymoron. And it’s not like you don’t still get plenty. There’s a 6-way divider with three full-length separators. Four pockets, though six zippers access them. The three large zippers on the back all lead to one big storage area.
Also, at 8.5 pounds, it’s on the lighter side for a cart bag. That can be nice when you think in terms of in-and-out of the trunk, locker, or wherever.
This isn’t a bag with a dozen pockets and a massive cooler. It’s much more elegant but still has room for the essentials and still gives you more overall storage than you’d get with a stand bag option.
The Rider comes in Black, White, Charcoal, Le Creme, and Sonoma, and all of the colorways have that classic Jones aesthetic. Think golf nostalgia.
At $520, it’s the most expensive bag on this list. And, honestly, that price feels steep. But Jones is about heritage and quality.
But if you value uniqueness, you’re not likely to see any of these out on the course at your local club.
If you appreciate the throwback look and don’t need a ton of pockets, the Rider could be perfect. There are certainly good options for less money. But none of them quite get at the soul of golf as well as this bag.
If you want the luxury of a cart bag without the over-the-top look and feel, Jones offers this classic, more nostalgic look and feel.
Which Cart Bag Should You Buy?
Alright, breaking it down as quickly and simply as I can, here’s how I see it:
- If you want the absolute best, get the Vessel Lux Cart 2.0 or 2.0 Pro. It’s expensive but worth it.
- If you want really solid quality but want to keep the price under control, I like the Big Max Dri Lite Prime at $349. I think it’s priced just right.
- If you’re going for max storage and max fun, Sunday Golf’s Big Rig is the no-brainer. Especially at $239 with our discount code. This could just as easily be called the Best Value pick.
- For something unique, or if you like a big, bold look, the Ghost GT-14 has excellent build quality and features.
- And if you’re going for a more classic, throwback style, it’s easily the Jones Rider.
