Foresight Sports just announced the biggest overhaul to its software ecosystem in years.
The centerpiece is Foresight Premier, an entirely new PC application that replaces FSX Play and FSX Pro as the company’s primary platform for simulation, practice, and performance analysis.
But Premier is only one part of the announcement. There’s also a new subscription system called Foresight+, along with major changes to course access and the future of Foresight’s existing software.

What is Foresight Premier?
Foresight Premier is the new desktop software for Foresight launch monitors.
It combines the simulation features of FSX Play with the practice and performance-analysis tools found in FSX Pro. It also brings improved graphics, updated ball-flight physics, better green visualization, and a much more modern overall experience.
In other words, this is much more than a minor FSX update. Premier is the platform where Foresight plans to put its new features and development moving forward.
This is the most confusing part of the announcement:
Your subscription is tied to your Foresight account rather than one specific launch monitor, making it easier to access your data and preferences across compatible devices.
There are three primary membership levels: Free, Silver, and Gold.
Here is what you get with each:
Golf-course access is a separate add-on: called Course Pass or Course Pass Pro.
You need a Silver or Gold membership before you can add either Course Pass.
If you already own a perpetual license for FSX Play, FSX Pro, or FSX 2020, you won’t lose access to it.
The important caveat is that these older platforms will no longer receive meaningful new features. FSX Play will remain available and receive critical fixes, but future development will be focused on Premier.
Individually purchased courses will also remain accessible in the older FSX software. Eligible courses can carry over to Premier, although they require an active Silver or Gold membership and must first be converted to the new platform.
From a pure software standpoint, Premier is a significant and much-needed improvement. Foresight makes some of the best launch-monitor hardware in golf, but its software experience hasn’t always lived up to that same standard.
Premier has the potential to change that.
The more controversial part is the move toward annual subscriptions—especially when course access can add another $295 to $595 each year.
There’s a lot to like here, but the value will ultimately depend on which features you need, the launch monitor you own, and how frequently you use it for simulation.
