Best Golf Hoodies of 2025: 8 Expert-Tested Picks

Yep, golf hoodies are a thing. Seriously! Here are my picks for the best across a variety of uses and budgets.

I’m a pretty casual dude, so the fact that hoodies are starting to be cool to wear on the golf course? I’m all for it.

Yes, there will be purists who think that’s sacrilege, and I understand their point of view.

But here’s the thing: most golfers I know aren’t spending their entire day at the country club. We’re fitting in rounds between work, the gym, and life. Why not wear something that works for all of it?

Unlike polos or quarter-zips, hoodies are having a real moment right now, and golf brands are finally making them performance-ready without sacrificing that laid-back vibe.

These days, I’m fortunate enough to have relationships with many, if not most, of the major golf apparel brands out there. Putting out honest reviews consistently for over 13 years, covering hundreds of products from dozens of brands, can do that for you.

I don’t take sponsorships, but I am typically able to get my hands on whatever apparel I need to review. What’s great about this is I have no loyalty to any specific brand, I get similar commissions for purchases from all of them (yes, the links below are affiliate links), and most importantly, I can compare and contrast styles and fit in a (hopefully) useful way.

If you get value out of this, clicking any of the links or using any of the promo codes allows me to continue doing these types of reviews for you. But I truly don’t care if you buy anything or not. I’m just trying to help you find the right products for your needs. Especially when it comes to golf hoodies, because apparel can be a little tricky to buy online without some extra sizing help.

So with that, here are the 8 golf hoodies I’m wearing most right now. I’ve tested each one extensively, and I’ll break down exactly who each hoodie is for, how they fit, and where they excel.

Best For Actually Golfing (And Coolest): Forrester’s Range Hoodie

    Forresters Range Hoodie

The team behind Jones Golf Bags just relaunched the iconic Forrester’s outerwear brand from the ’70s—and they’ve absolutely knocked it out of the park.

Their flagship Range Hoodie is just about perfect.

Let me start with this: if you want to be one of the cool kids right now, buy this hoodie. It’s easily the trendiest option on this list, and for good reason—the design is clean, modern, and has that vintage-meets-performance aesthetic that’s having a moment.

But here’s what really impressed me: I think it’s also the best hoodie to actually golf in.

The material is slightly water-resistant, so if the weather turns on you mid-round, it holds up better than the cotton hoodies on this list. The inside features a waffle-knit pattern that’s surprisingly warm without adding bulk. And the length—both the body and the sleeves—is dialed in perfectly.

Those sleeves deserve special mention. They’re easy to pull up when you’re hitting shots, and they actually stay where you push them without getting stretched out. That might sound like a small thing, but if you’ve ever fought with hoodie sleeves on the course, you know how annoying that can be.

At $148, it’s also one of the better values on this list. You’re getting premium performance, killer style, and the flexibility to wear it anywhere from the first tee to the coffee shop.

If you’re only going to buy one hoodie from this list and you plan to actually golf in it regularly, this is the one I’d grab.

    $148

Not only is this one of the trendiest pieces of clothing in golf right now, but it's also one of the most functional as well. This represents a killer value for what you get.

Warmest Hoodie: TRUE Linkswear Future Staples

    TRUE Future Staples Hoodie

When the temperature drops and you need a hoodie that’s going to actually keep you warm, the TRUE Linkswear Future Staples Hoodie is my go-to.

This is probably the thickest hoodie on this list—and I mean that in the best way possible. It’s substantial without being bulky, and it genuinely keeps you toasty on those cooler fall and winter days when other hoodies leave you wishing you’d grabbed a jacket instead.

The fit runs a little tighter than some of the other options here, with less space around the neck. That might sound like a negative, but it actually helps trap warmth where you need it most. For reference, I wear a large in most hoodies, and the large in this fits perfectly—unlike the Future Staples crewneck where I had to size up to XL.

Now, full transparency: this is one of the less “golf-looking” hoodies on the list. If your club has particularly strict dress codes, this might push the boundaries. But for most courses that have embraced the hoodie trend, you’ll be fine. And honestly, I love the casual, streetwear-inspired aesthetic.

TRUE describes this as “the perfect mid-weight layering piece,” and while I’d call it more of a heavyweight, they’re not wrong about the versatility. The fabric blend handles light drizzle surprisingly well, and it’s breathable enough that you won’t overheat once the sun comes out.

At $110, it’s also one of the most affordable options on this list. Use code BE15 and it drops down to $93.50—which is a fantastic deal for a high-quality hoodie that’ll keep you warm all season long.

If you play regularly in colder weather and want a hoodie that actually performs like cold-weather gear, this is the one.

This hoodie is soft, it's comfortable, and it's warm. One of my favorites both on and off the golf course, and it's also one of the most affordable on this list.

    Most Versatile: Redvanly Larkin

This is one of my most-worn hoodies over the last five years—and that’s saying something considering how many hoodies I’ve tested.

Unlike the cotton-based options above, the updated Redvanly Larkin is a blend of polyester and spandex. That makes all the difference when it comes to versatility.

Need something breathable for the course in mild climates? It works. Heading to the gym after your round? Perfect. Just throwing on a casual layer to run errands? This is what I reach for.

It’s become my default “I just need to throw something on” hoodie, and the fact that it still looks sharp enough to wear out casually says a lot about the design.

One small but meaningful update in the most recent version: they got rid of the drawstrings. The previous version had metal ends that looked great, but could get a little annoying when swinging. Problem solved.

I should mention that Redvanly probably has the best full lineup of hoodies this season of any brand on this list. If you want something equally versatile but prefer a less synthetic feel, check out their Irving Hoodie, it’s another winner.

At $135, the Larkin sits towards the lower end of this list price-wise. But when you consider how often you’ll wear it, golf course, gym, coffee shop, weekend errands, the cost per wear makes it one of the best values here.

If you can only buy one hoodie and need it to work in multiple settings, this is probably your safest bet.

Most Popular: Holderness & Bourne Wallace

If you’re at a top 100 private club in the Northeast, this will likely be the hoodie you see the most of.

Holderness & Bourne popularized the quilted look years ago with their original Ward sweater, and the Wallace Hoodie is now the evolution of that design in hoodie form. It’s become something of a status symbol in certain golf circles—and for good reason.

This is a bit more formal than the B-Draddy Andy listed above. Where the Andy strikes a balance between casual and elevated, the Wallace leans harder into that refined, country club aesthetic. If you’re looking to dress things up while still being in a sweatshirt, this is a great option.

The quality is exactly what you’d expect from Holderness & Bourne. The quilted texture feels substantial, the materials are premium, and the construction is meticulous. This is the kind of piece that signals you take your golf style seriously.

One thing to note: the fit can be a little tricky. I found the medium to be just slightly tight on me, and the large to be just slightly loose. Neither was unwearable, but neither was perfect either. Just something to keep in mind as you’re ordering—you might want to think about whether you prefer a more fitted or relaxed look and size accordingly.

At $215, it’s positioned right in that premium-but-not-crazy range. You’re paying for the Holderness & Bourne name and quality, and if you value that classic, refined golf aesthetic, it’s worth every penny.

If you want a hoodie that fits seamlessly into more traditional golf culture while still embracing the hoodie trend, the Wallace is your pick.

At this year's PGA Show I'm not sure there's a single item I saw more of, than the Holderness and Bourne Wallace Hoodie. And for good reason, it's one of the best looking hoodies out there.

    Editor’s Choice: Greyson Gotham Hoodie

This one doesn’t necessarily fit into any of the categories above, so we’re just calling it Editor’s Choice—because sometimes a hoodie is just really, really good at everything.

Greyson describes the Gotham Hoodie as “mid-weight,” but it’s actually the heaviest basic hoodie I own. And I mean that in the best way possible.

It just feels thick and high-quality in a way that’s increasingly rare. When I put it on, the weight of it almost feels like I’m being enveloped by a comfy weighted blanket. Okay, that might be a stretch—but the build quality is genuinely excellent, and there’s something satisfying about a hoodie that has real substance to it.

This is just a solid all-around golf hoodie. You’ll find it in many higher-end pro shops, which tells you something about how it’s positioned. But it works just as well off the course as it does on. It’s understated enough to be versatile, but premium enough that you can tell it’s a quality piece.

At $170, it sits right in that sweet spot where you’re getting legitimate quality without crossing into luxury pricing. If you want a no-nonsense, wear-it-anywhere golf hoodie that’ll last, the Gotham delivers.

Best Cashmere #1: G/FORE Cashmere Hooded Sweater

    G/FORE Cashmere Hooded Sweater

Okay, I couldn’t decide between these next two, so you’re getting two choices in the “luxury golf hoodie” category.

First up: the G/FORE Cashmere Hooded Sweater.

Everything about this feels amazing. The cashmere is exceptionally soft—the kind of soft where you find yourself absentmindedly rubbing the fabric between your fingers. And the construction is typical G/FORE quality, which is to say excellent.

The subtle pop of pink near the cuff is a signature G/FORE touch that adds just enough personality without being loud about it. The Twilight Blue colorway, in particular, looks fantastic.

This is the kind of piece you wear when you want to feel like you’re treating yourself. It’s warm, it’s luxurious, and yes, it’s definitely a splurge at $495—making it the most expensive piece on this list.

The G/FORE code G4BREAKING8010 will knock 10% off, bringing it down to around $445. Still a significant investment, but slightly more palatable.

My only critique? I wish it were half an inch longer. I have a long torso, and length is the single biggest fit factor for me. The size large fits totally fine as it sits, but if it were to shrink even a little in the wash, it’d be a bit too small for my comfort.

If you’re looking for the absolute pinnacle of luxury golf hoodies and budget isn’t a concern, this is as good as it gets.

Soft, warm, breathable... This thing is nice! Yes, it's $495. But if you want true premium luxury in a hooded sweater, here it is.

Best Cashmere #2: Redvanly Quincy Cashmere

    Redvanly Quincy Hoodie

This is a very similar option to the G/FORE, with some key differences that might make it the better choice for you.

First off, the Redvanly Quincy Cashmere Hoodie is equally soft, because, well, it’s cashmere. But the build quality doesn’t feel quite as refined as the G/FORE version. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still extremely good. It just doesn’t quite reach that same level of meticulous construction.

The good news? It’s significantly less expensive at $350.

Yes, $350 is still a lot of money for a hoodie. But when you consider that G/FORE is pushing $500 and the B-Draddy cashmere option is nearly $600, this suddenly feels like a downright bargain in the luxury hoodie space. Especially when you use the code BREAKINGEIGHTY which drops it down another 10%.

For me, the fit is slightly more forgiving than the G/FORE—which addresses my length concerns from above. And I actually really like the subtle color blocking on the edge of the cuffs. It’s a nice design detail that adds visual interest without being too much.

If you’re looking to treat yourself to one of the warmest, softest, most beautiful hoodies you’ll find—but want to save $135 compared to the G/FORE, or over $200 comapred to the B.Draddy, this is the move.

Both cashmere options are incredible. The G/FORE edges it out on pure quality and refinement. But the Quincy is one of my favorite hoodies I own, and the value proposition at this price point makes it hard to pass up.

    Most Luxurious Hoodie
Redvanly Quincy Cashmere Hoodie | Use code BREAKINGEIGHTY to save 10%!
Redvanly Quincy Cashmere Hoodie | Use code BREAKINGEIGHTY to save 10%!

Yes, over $300 is a lot of money to spend on a hoodie. But this is significantly less than similar cashmere offerings from other brands, making it one of the best deals for a luxurious sweater out there.

Best All-Around Hoodie: B-Draddy Andy Quilted

If you’re looking for one hoodie that can do a little of everything, the B-Draddy Andy Quilted is my top pick.

What stands out immediately is the quilted pattern; it looks premium and elevated in a way that most hoodies just don’t. This isn’t your standard gym hoodie masquerading as golf wear. It’s legitimately stylish enough to wear to a nice dinner, but comfortable and unrestricted enough to swing a club in.

The fit is what I’d call “just right.” It’s not too tight, not too long, not too short. For reference, I’m 6′ 1″, 205lbs, and the Large fits perfectly. It has enough room to layer underneath if needed, but doesn’t feel baggy when worn on its own.

B-Draddy makes this from their signature long-staple organic Peruvian Pima cotton with a bit of stretch, and you can feel the quality. It’s one of those pieces that actually gets better and softer the more you wear it—kind of like your favorite t-shirt, but in hoodie form.

My only minor knock? This one feels like it gets a little more stretched out after multiple wears when compared to some of the other ones on this list. Considering every hoodie on this list feels like an investment, I try and wash only when totally necessary. And this one tends to just feel a little looser after multiple wears.

If I’m picking a colorway, the Elk Heather looks particularly sharp.

At $256, it’s definitely an investment piece. But you can use the discount code BREAKING to save 20%, bringing it down closer to $200. For a hoodie this versatile that you’ll wear constantly? That’s worth it.

    Best All Around Hoodie
B.Draddy Andy Quilted Hoodie | Use Code BREAKING to save 20%!
B.Draddy Andy Quilted Hoodie | Use Code BREAKING to save 20%!

Looking for elevated style, fantastic fit, and high quality construction? The Andy Hoodie has it all. It's on the more expensive end, but the code BREAKING will knock 20% off and make it more palatable.

What Do YOU Think Are the Best Golf Hoodies Out There?

Do you have a golf hoodie that you absolutely love that I should be considering for this list?

If so, drop a comment and let me know.

This is a work in progress. As I test more hoodies and new options hit the market, I’ll continue updating this post to reflect the best picks available. Golf hoodies are still relatively new to the mainstream, and brands are releasing new styles constantly—so I expect this list to evolve quite a bit over the next year or two.

For someone who spent most of his golf life thinking hoodies had no place on the course, I’ve come around pretty quickly. They’ve become one of the most versatile pieces in my golf wardrobe, right up there with the best golf vests for layering options.

I’m also planning to upload new photos of me wearing each of these, so you can get a better sense of size and fit. Keep an eye out for that.

And if you’re building out your complete golf wardrobe, don’t miss my other guides:

    • Best Golf Pants – because the right pants make a huge difference in comfort and style
    • Best Golf Vests – perfect for layering when a hoodie is too much but a polo isn’t enough
    • Best Golf Shoes – the foundation of any great golf outfit

Each of these guides follows the same philosophy: honest reviews, real testing, and helping you find exactly what works for your game and style.
