The Redvanly Larkin is My Most Worn Hoodie Over the Past 5 Years

No matter what you're doing, there's a good chance this Redvanly Hoodie should come with you.

I’ve tested a lot of golf hoodies over the years.

But there’s one I keep coming back to more than any other. One that’s been in my regular rotation for the last five years. One that works just as well at the gym as it does on the course.

    The Redvanly Larkin Hoodie.

This isn’t the fanciest hoodie on my list. It won’t turn heads at the country club like some of the quilted options. But if you need one hoodie that can genuinely do everything? This might be it.

Let me break down why this has become my most versatile piece.

First Impressions of the Redvanly Larkin Hoodie

    The Redvanly Larkin Hoodie

The Larkin is what I’d call refreshingly straightforward.

No quilted patterns. No elaborate design details. Just a clean, athletic-looking hoodie that doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not.

The latest version made one smart update: they got rid of the drawstrings. The previous model had metal-tipped drawstrings that looked great but could get a little annoying when swinging. Problem solved.

What you get instead is a streamlined look that works everywhere. Golf course? Sure. Gym? Absolutely. Running errands? That’s probably when I wear it most.

I’ve been wearing the Tuxedo (black) colorway, which has a nice little pop of blue in the logo and on the hood. But this comes in a bunch of different colors depending on your style preference.

This might be my most worn hoodie over the last 5 years. It's by far my favorite to throw on to go to the gym, around town, or better yet, wear on the golf course.

Fit and Materials: Redvanly Keeps Getting Better and Better

Here’s where the Larkin differentiates itself from most of the other hoodies I’ve tested.

Unlike the cotton-based options, this is made from Redvanly’s STRETCHknit fabric. This is a blend of polyester (77%) and spandex (23%) with a brushed interior. That might sound overly technical, but what it means in practice is this thing performs.

The fabric is super soft with 4-way stretch. It’s moisture-wicking. And it’s super easy to care for. Throw it in the wash, toss it in the dryer, and it comes out looking the same as when it went in.

The fit is what I’d call athletic without being tight. At 6’1″ and 205 pounds, I wear a large, and it fits perfectly. Not too long, not too short. The sleeves hit right where they should. And it’s got enough room that you never feel restricted, but not so much that it looks baggy.

One thing I really appreciate? The cuffs are elasticized, so when you push up the sleeves, they actually stay where you put them. Small detail, big difference.

The Forrester’s Range hoodie does this very well, and it’s my only major knock on the B. Draddy Andy, which is my go-to hoodie if you want something slightly dressier than this.

How Well Does It Work to Actually Golf In?

The Larkin is what I reach for when I need a hoodie that’s going to perform on the course without making me overthink it.

The synthetic fabric dries fast, which makes a real difference if you’re someone who tends to run warm or plays in mild climates where the temperature fluctuates during a round. You never get that clammy feeling you sometimes get with cotton hoodies.

The stretch in the fabric means youve got full range of motion in your swing. Zero restriction through the shoulders or chest. And because it’s lightweight, it’s easy to throw in your bag if you think you might need it later in the round.

It’s warm enough for cool mornings in the 50s and 60s, but breathable enough that you won’t overheat once the sun comes out. That versatility is rare in a hoodie.

From a pure golf performance standpoint, this thing just works. No compromises.

Final Thoughts on the Redvanly Hoodie

The Redvanly Larkin Hoodie wins my award for Most Versatile hoodie, and that’s not a throwaway title.

This is genuinely my “I just need to throw something on” hoodie. Heading to the course? It works. Going to the gym after your round? Perfect. Just running out to grab coffee? This is what I reach for.

Want even more versatility? I wore it basically nonstop for 72 hours on a recent 3-day fly fishing trip down the Deschutes River. It paired very well with the Zero Restriction Future Vest.

Redvanly Hoodie x Zero Restriction Future Vest = Winning Combo (both on the course and in the river.)

The fact that it still looks sharp enough to wear casually says a lot about the design. It’s not trying to be formal or elevated—it’s just a really well-executed athletic hoodie that happens to work great for golf.

At $135, the Larkin sits toward the lower end of this list price-wise. Use code BREAKINGEIGHTY and it drops to around $121. But when you consider how often you’ll actually wear this thing: golf course, gym, errands, travel, the cost per wear makes it one of the best values here.

You can’t dress it up quite as much as something like the B.Draddy Andy or the Holderness & Bourne Wallace. But if you need one hoodie that can handle multiple parts of your life without thinking about it? This is probably your safest bet.

Short of maybe going to a fancy dinner, this is my go-to, do-anything hoodie. And after five years of regular wear, I still grab it constantly.

    That says something.
