If you’ve been paying attention to what’s happening in golf apparel over the last year, you’ve probably already heard of Forrester’s.
And if you haven’t — you’re about to.
Here’s the short version: Forrester’s is a Portland-based outerwear brand that’s been around since 1951, built its name on rugged, weather-ready gear for Pacific Northwest golfers, and then basically disappeared for a few decades. Sound familiar? It should — it’s the same story as Jones Sports Co. And not coincidentally, it’s the same team behind the revival. Matt Lemman, who brought Jones back and made it one of the coolest brands in golf, bought the rights to Forrester’s and relaunched them in mid-2025.
I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of time in their gear since day one. And I’ll just say this: they didn’t come back to mess around.
Whether it’s their hoodie, their rain gear, or their collab with Payntr on one of the best all-season golf shoes I’ve ever tested — pretty much everything they’ve put out has exceeded my expectations. This is one of those brands that I think is going to become a staple in golf apparel over the next few years, and right now you can get in early at a discount.
Seriously, this is a great time to grab something. The Range Hoodie alone is worth it.

Not sure where to start? Here’s everything we’ve covered on Forrester’s so far:
- Forrester’s Range Hoodie Review – This is the one that really put them on my radar. I went in with moderate expectations and came out ready to call it the best golf hoodie I’ve ever worn on the course. The fit, the waffle-knit fleece lining, that drawstring holder across the chest — everything about it just works. At $148, the value is hard to beat.
- Forrester’s x Payntr Rainshedder RS1 Review – A collaboration between two Portland brands, and somehow the result is even better than you’d expect. This is my pick for the best all-season golf shoe on the market right now. Built exclusively for the golf course, and it shows.
- Best Golf Rain Gear (Featuring the Forrester’s Rainshedder Jacket) – The rain jacket gets a full breakdown in my rain gear roundup, and it’s the one I’m personally wearing the most. The half-zip anorak look is unlike anything else out there, and the 3-layer construction is legitimately impressive. If you want to look like one of the cool kids while staying completely dry, this is the move.
- Best Golf Hoodies (Featuring the Range Hoodie) – The Range Hoodie earns my top spot in this roundup. If you want the full comparison against everything else I’ve tested, start here.
My honest starting recommendation? If you’re buying one thing, grab the Range Hoodie. It’s the perfect entry point into the brand — versatile enough to wear on and off the course, performs better than almost anything else in its price range, and it just looks really good.
If you’re a Pacific Northwest golfer who plays through the rain, you already know you need the Rainshedder Jacket. And if you’re looking for an off-season shoe that can actually handle whatever the weather throws at you, the RS1 is a no-brainer.
Note: As of March 2026, the code doesn’t work on the RS1 Rainshedder x Payntr Golf Shoes, but should be good for everything else on the site.
Forresters has quickly become one of my favorite brands for layers you actually want to golf in.
