At some point in the last few years, I started building my golf wardrobe differently.
Instead of buying golf stuff for golf and regular stuff for everything else, I started asking myself, “Am I actually going to wear this enough to make it a worthwhile purchase?”
Because the reality of golf clothes are two things: One, they’re expensive. And two, a lot of us only wear golf clothes once or twice a week if we’re lucky and more realistically about once a month for many of us. Shoes especially.
And that right there is honestly why TRUE Linkswear started dominating my overall wardrobe. It’s because, more than any other brand, they make stuff that’s just as good and useful when you’re not playing golf as it is when you actually do get on the course.
I love their shoes and apparel because they fit my personal style across the board. They make gear that, at least to me, feels like it fits in a lot of the situations I find myself in. Rounds of golf, dinners, travel, chilling out with friends.
In other words, their clothes and shoes are versatile. You can buy one piece and use it for multiple occasions.
Meaning that you’re actually wearing the golf clothes and shoes you’re buying. It makes it a lot easier to justify the expense when you get more mileage out of your purchases.
So, from the brand that I think is the undisputed leader in blending golf and lifestyle with their shoes and apparel, here are my overall top five TRUE Linkswear picks in 2026.
The Most Versatile Golf Shoe: TRUE FS-01

If you’ve ever packed for a golf trip and stared at your shoe rack trying to figure out what to leave behind, the FS-01 is the answer.
The idea is simple. One shoe that works on the course and looks good enough to wear straight to dinner afterward.
It comes in black and white, and the recycled leather upper is genuinely high quality and soft with a clean matte finish that doesn’t scream “golf shoe.”
On the course, these aren’t going to be a replacement for tour-level spiked shoes. But for a casual round, the grip actually surprised me. It’s more than sufficient, and the comfort is outstanding.
But what I really love about these shoes is that they’re just so versatile. You can wear the same pair of shoes on the plane, on the course, at the restaurant, walking around town, or whatever else. They really are a true go-anywhere, do-whatever shoe.
Retail on the FS-01 is $189, but they’ve been around long enough that you’ll frequently find them marked down. Right now, you can grab them for $99. And our TRUE code BE15 takes another 15% off, which makes them an incredibly strong value for such a versatile shoe.
Looking for the perfect casual golf shoe you and wear on AND off the course? The FS-01 may be exactly what you need. Use code "BE15" to save 15%!
Best Vacation Shoe: TRUE All Day Knit Series
Similar spirit to the FS-01, but a slightly different goal.
The All Day Knit series is built for the trip where golf is part of the itinerary, but it isn’t the whole trip. You’re going to play a round, walk around town, maybe hit the beach, grab something to eat somewhere casual. These are those shoes.
The Knit 2 is the most comfortable of the series. It’s my go-to for a long travel day.

The Knit 3 has what I think is the best overall look.
And the Knit 4 is basically the synthesis of everything they’ve learned from both, with solid comfort and good performance.
Honestly, all three are worth considering. The differences are subtle enough that I’d say to just go to the website and pick the ones that look best to you or that you can find on sale.
Because, periodically, all three will go on sale, and the deals can be awesome. The Knit 3 are the most expensive at a retail of $169, but it’s not unusual to find all three of these options much closer to that $100 mark.
Stack the BE15 code on top of that, and you’re looking at a really capable travel shoe that you can also wear for a casual round of golf, all for less than a hundred bucks. That’s pretty tough to beat.
One thing worth noting is that these are not waterproof. For a dry sunny day or a summer resort round, they’re perfect. But if you’re playing in any kind of weather, I’d opt for something else.
I've been a big fan of the TRUE's Knit Series. The Knit 2s have been my go-to, do-everything vacation shoe for years. So a new and improved Knit shoe definitely has a place in my lineup.
Best TRUE Layering Piece: Future Staples Hoodie
This was the least expensive hoodie in my recent roundup of golf hoodies, and it was still one of my favorites on the list.
You get a four-way stretch performance fleece that keeps you genuinely warm, a fit that moves freely with your swing, and just enough design detail (like a faux button placket and a small side zip pocket) to make it look intentional rather than thrown on.
It’s also water repellent, which has saved me on more than a few occasions here in the northwest.

One sizing note worth flagging is that I wear a large, and this hoodie fits true to size. However, the crew neck Future Staples model runs noticeably smaller. What’s labeled a large felt like a small to me. So if you’re looking at the crewneck, I’d say to size up. With the hoodie, you can go with your normal size.
Retail is $125, which isn’t cheap, of course. But this really is one of those pieces you’ll wear constantly, so I actually think the price works out fairly well.
This hoodie is soft, it's comfortable, and it's warm. One of my favorites both on and off the golf course, and it's also one of the most affordable on this list.
Best All-Day Golf Apparel: TRUE All Day 5-Pocket Pant

Finding golf pants you actually love isn’t as simple as it may sound. I’ve found that it can actually be surprisingly difficult to find a pair that fits just right and that also works in casual situations off the course.
I spent years wearing travel pants from another brand on the course because nothing golf-specific really worked quite right or the way I wanted.
The TRUE All Day 5-Pocket Pant is about as close as I’ve found to a genuine do-anything pant. The silhouette is slim and tapered so they look more like a sharp pair of casual pants than anything that screams golf. The four-way stretch material is water-resistant and breathable.
In other words, all of the technical performance features that make a great on-course golf pants are there, but these pants don’t announce themselves as obvious golf pants. Which I really like about them.
These pants also include some really nice detail touches. The zippered back pocket, which I’ve appreciated more than I expected when traveling. Upgraded hardware throughout. A side phone pocket. They’re all little touches that add up to a really nice and really versatile pair of pants.
Sizing runs true. I’m a 34 x 32 and it’s been spot on.
You’ve also got a few different color choices that I think are great. They come in black, charcoal, coffee, khaki, and olive, which are all neutral enough to work with just about anything. I own these pants in like three different colorways because, yeah, these are my go-tos.
Retail is $135, but the BE15 code takes 15% off, bringing them down to about $115.
Looking for a pair of casual, yet super comfortable golf pants? The TRUE All-Day 5 pocket may be the perfect fit. Unless your club's dress code is SUPER over the top 🙂 Use code "BE15" to save 15%!
Best Do-Anything Shoe: TRUE Ascent PNWPROOF

Of course, I’m gonna like a shoe that’s literally named for its protection against Pacific Northwest conditions, which is exactly where I live and play a lot of golf.
And these shoes do the name and this company’s Pacific Northwest heritage proud. They fill a gap that almost nothing else does.
The Ascents look like a clean, casual sneaker. They really don’t look waterproof, but they definitely are. I’ve played full rounds in pouring rain and even jumped in puddles in these without any issue.
And the traction has held up better than I expected for a do-anything shoe on both the course and the muddy trails around my neighborhood. They don’t necessarily look like the grippiest shoe, but they’ve performed really well.
If you’re looking for an all-weather shoe that you can kind of do anything in and play golf in, these are some of the only shoes on the market that fit that bill.
Looking for a bulletproof pair of off season golf shoes? What about a pair you could also take off the course as well? The TRUE Ascent is what you need.

Wrapping Up 5 Favorites from a Brand I Wear A LOT
I figured we were overdue to get this list created, considering how often I find myself wearing something TRUE.
Like I said, this is a brand that I find fits my whole lifestyle, rather than just the golf-specific part of my life.
So if you’re somebody who’s maybe looking for pieces that can be a little more versatile and that you may want to wear just as much while hanging out or going out to eat or traveling as you do when you’re playing golf, I think you’ll find some things to like with TRUE Linkswear.
These are the five items I’d look at first. I’ll continue to update this periodically as new gear drops and old stuff gets retired.
