The New 2026 G/FORE G.112s are Fantastic Golf Shoes

G/FORE took one of their most popular shoes and made it even better. Here's why this is the brand's broadest appeal shoe yet.

I’ll admit it, I slept on the original G.112 for way too long.

While I was busy falling in love with the Gallivanters, rotating through the MG4+, and putting miles on the MG4x2, the G.112 sat on the sidelines. I liked how it looked, but something about it made me wonder if it was more of a fashion statement than a functional golf shoe. Turns out, I had it completely backwards, and when I finally put seven rounds on the original, I was genuinely surprised by how good they were.

So when G/FORE unveiled a fully redesigned G.112.2 for 2026, I was paying attention this time.

And good news? After three full rounds in them, I’m really happy with what I’ve seen. Here’s my full review.

First Impressions: A Cleaner, More Accessible G/FORE

The first thing you notice with the new G.112 shoes is what’s gone.

Those distinctive spiky soles that crept up the back and sides of the original? They’ve been replaced with a cleaner, more streamlined profile. Honestly, I had a soft spot for that quirky design element. It gave the original a look that was entirely its own. But stepping back and looking at the G.112.2 as a whole, I understand why they made the call.

This is now a G/FORE shoe that will have broader appeal than any other model in their lineup. And I mean that as a real compliment.

The styling feels more accessible to the average golfer without losing the brand’s identity entirely. There are still bolder colorways for those who want them, this is G/FORE, after all, but the new G.112.2 is significantly less “in your face” than its predecessor.

The blue and white colorway is the easy answer for maximum versatility: it looks good with just about anything, on or off the course.

Grey and orange is the current pick for something slightly more bold.

Build quality is exactly what you’d expect from G/FORE. Premium materials, tight construction, that immediate sense of holding something high-end the moment you pick it up. I do miss the perforated upper that was available on the original, as it was a nice textural detail, but I’d be willing to bet G/FORE brings that back in a future colorway or iteration.

The original G.112 “Perforated” model that had extra venting in the leather.

One small note: the signature nubbed insoles are here, and I still love them. They feel slightly less pronounced than on some other G/FORE models I’ve worn, but you still get that distinctive light massage-with-every-step sensation that makes these insoles one of the brand’s best recurring features.

The signature nubbed insoles you’ll find in most G/FORE shoes.

The completely redesigned G.112 shoes not only look great, but they perform way better on the golf course than you'd expect. And the best part? They perform great OFF the course as well.

Performance: Surprisingly Capable for a Casual Shoe

Three rounds in, and I haven’t slipped once.

That’s really the headline on the performance front. The G.112.2 doesn’t have the most aggressive traction of any spikeless shoe I’ve tested, that title probably still goes to something like the MG4+ O2, but I’ve never lacked confidence in this shoe on the course. Wet conditions, uneven lies, walking the fairways, it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it without hesitation.

The spikeless sole of the G.112.2

Waterproofing is solid. Comfort is where G/FORE always wins, and the G.112.2 is no exception. This is the kind of shoe that fits like a casual sneaker but performs like a golf shoe, and that’s a genuinely difficult balance to strike.

And for what it’s worth, you can totally rock these off the course as an “all-day” shoe. I don’t know that I personally would on a regular basis, but the average person would never look at you at a coffee shop and say “Why are wearing golf shoes?”

If you’re looking for the most technical, performance-oriented spikeless shoe on the market, this probably isn’t it. But if you want a shoe that does everything well, feels effortless to wear, and happens to look great? The G.112.2 is very hard to argue with.

It’s going to be my go-to spikeless shoe this summer. Full stop.

    Comfort & Wearability

Overall, the new G.112 is just as comfortable as the previous pairs of G/FORE shoes I’ve worn.

The only minor exception to this was that I started to feel a little rubbing on the inside of my right heel as I finished my first round of 18.

But in two subsequent rounds, there’s been absolutely none of that, and I rate them as on par with comfort from the previous model.

If you’ve ever looked at a G/FORE shoe and thought “I like the brand, but I’m not sure I can pull that off,” the 2026 G.112 is your answer. These are G/FORE shoes for golfers who want the quality and comfort the brand is known for, while having a shoe that doesn’t force you to think about your golf fashion on any given day.

But for those that do? These are still as stylish as they come.

    Is the G/FORE G.112.2 Worth $225?

    GFORE G.112.2 Shoes

This is where I’ll be straight with you.

At $225, these aren’t what I’d call an outstanding value in a pure dollars-to-performance sense. You can use G/FORE code G4BREAKING8010 to knock 10% off and bring it closer to $200 — and at that price, it’s an easier call. But even at full price, this is still a significant spend for a shoe that leans more casual-comfort than technical-performance.

Here’s the thing, though: G/FORE has earned my trust. Every shoe of theirs I’ve tested has held up exceptionally well over time in terms of durability, comfort, and performance. When a brand consistently delivers, you start to pay a premium for reliability as much as you do for the shoe itself. And at this point, that’s exactly what I’m doing with G/FORE.

If you’ve got $225 (or closer to $200 with the code) to spend on a spikeless shoe that’s going to be incredibly comfortable, genuinely versatile, and built to last? The G.112.2 is an easy recommendation.

Looking for apparel to go along with some of the shoes? Here are some of my current favorite G/FORE items out there.

    9.3 Great

Looking for a stylish, comfortable, casual looking golf shoe? The G/FORE G.112 is one of the very best on the market. It ticks all the boxes, and even if it's not the most affordable or technical golf shoe? It's still one of my personal favorites on the market.

    The Good
    1. Cleaner, more refined styling with broader appeal than any previous G/FORE model
    2. Signature comfort and build quality the brand is known for
    3. Solid waterproofing and reliable traction through three rounds
    4. Versatile enough to wear on and off the course
    The Bad
    1. $225 is steep for a shoe that prioritizes casual comfort over technical performance
    2. The distinctive spiky sole detail of the original is gone (you may or may not miss it)
    3. Nubbed insoles feel slightly less pronounced than on other G/FORE models
