G/FORE has taken over a pretty significant portion of my golf wardrobe.
Their shoes, especially, but I’ve also been getting a lot of use out of their layering pieces.
It wasn’t always that way. For a long time, I thought G/FORE’s style was a little too fashion-forward for me. I’m a pretty straightforward, casual kind of guy, and I always thought that maybe their stuff was a little too bold for me.
But once I started actually wearing more G/FORE, the quality won me over. The materials are exceptional. And they’ve got a bunch of small attention-to-detail things that I think add up to some really interesting products that you might want to consider.
So here are five things from G/FORE that I’ve had in heavy rotation. Not just stuff I’ve tested once, but the gear I’ve been using regularly.
My Current Favorite G/FORE Shoes
Honestly, there isn’t a bad pair of G/FORE shoes out there. They’re all great, and all perform a slightly different function and appeal to different styles.
But here are my current go options.
Best-Performing Spikeless Golf Shoe: MG4+ O2
The original MG4+ spikeless was my most-worn golf shoe in 2023.
So when G/FORE released this updated MG4+ O2 spikeless version, I was curious if they could actually improve on something I already loved.
They did.
My first round was a wet morning with heavy dew, and I didn’t slip once. For a spikeless shoe, that’s impressive.
The comfort is outstanding too. G/FORE puts these little massaging nubs in the insole that make it feel like your feet are getting little pressure massages with each step that you take. I know it sounds weird, but you’ve got to try it. Amazing!
One note on sizing: I’m a 12 and they fit true to size, though they felt slightly snug on the first wear. After one round, they broke in perfectly. But if you’ve got wider feet, consider going half a size up.
At $225, these aren’t cheap. But with code G4BREAKING8010 you can drop that to just over $200. I really think that if you want great grip but you hate wearing spikes, you should check these out.
G/FORE does it again with another killer shoe. This time they've created what might be the best-performing spikeless golf shoe. If you want near-spike-level performance but like the comfort and convenience of spikeless, check these out.
Best Casual Golf Shoes: G.112.2
This is G/FORE’s biggest release of 2026 so far, and it’s a redesign of one of my favorite pairs of golf shoes, the G.112.
I wrote these off early on. But over the past year, the original G.112 has gotten more wear time than any other shoe. Not only that, I’ve been rocking the street version of these shoes (RIP) as my primary daily wearer for months now.
But with the latest version of the shoe, the G.112.2? We’ve seen some pretty significant style changes. It’s clear they’re going for a broader market appeal, as they’re not quite as edgy as the original.
The result? A super clean, good-looking shoe that performs way better on the golf course than you’d expect for such a casual-looking golf shoe.
And just like the original? Even the golf version of this shoe works well off the course as well.
The completely redesigned G.112 shoes not only look great, but they perform way better on the golf course than you'd expect. And the best part? They perform great OFF the course as well.

Best Looking G/FORE Shoes: The Gallivanter

This is the first pair of G/FORE shoes I ever wore, and it’s still the pair that I think most people associate with the brand.
It’s a modern take on your traditional leather golf shoe silhouette. It’s more comfortable than you expect it to be, and whether you lean traditional, or want something super bold – G/FORE has you covered in terms of colors and styles.
This was the shoe that turned me onto the brand, and 3 years later, it is still in my regular rotation of golf shoes.
I'm not sure there's another shoe out there that says "I know how to play golf" than the Gallivanter. It's quite simply one of the best-looking shoes out there.
My Current Favorite G/FORE Golf Apparel
There’s very rarely a time on a golf course where I won’t be wearing at least one G/FORE item. It looks good, fits well, and is built to last.
Here are some of my current favorites.
My All-Time Favorite Golf Shorts: Everyday Short
I’ve tested a lot of golf shorts over the years, but my all-time favorite shorts are the G/FORE Everyday Shorts.
They hit all the boxes for me.
It’s got a stretch waistband that never feels uncomfortable, and provides a little extra room in case you have a big lunch in the clubhouse.
The length is perfect. The build quality is wonderful, so these feel very elevated and just as easy to wear to a BBQ, to the park with your kids, or the golf course.
They’re slightly more formal than some other shorts, but still perfectly suitable for any occasion. And the pop of pink on the zipper is decidedly G/FORE.
The best vote of confidence I can give a piece of apparel is if I go back and by the same thing in another color. I’ve now got 3 pairs of these shorts.
For me, these are the shorts that do it all. Not inexpensive, but definitely high quality. Total comfort and functionality on the course and at dinner or wherever else. I love 'em.

Best Cold-Weather Quarter Zip: Double Knit Pullover
This is the quarter zip I’ve been looking for for a long time.
A lot of quarter zips are too thin. They’re great if it’s just a little chilly in the morning, but they don’t have much substance if conditions are a little more raw. This one is thicker. It definitely feels more like a fall or winter piece.
But it surprised me with how breathable it was. I wore it from start to finish on an 18-hole round that started in the mid-50s and got up to the mid-70s, and I was comfortable the entire round.
The fit is great. I like the contrasting materials that give it a slightly different look. And it’s easy to pull up the sleeves, which matters more than you’d think.
I’ve had this for a year now, and it’s still my go-to quarter-zip for most rounds.
Like with everything G/FORE, you’re buying a higher-quality piece and it definitely does cost a premium. This pullover costs $265. But a reminder that the G4BREAKING8010 code can knock about $25 off of that, which makes it a bit more reasonable.
This quarter zip is durable, warm, and looks great. When the weather is a little chilly, this is the layering piece I've been grabbing more than any other.

Best Everyday Polo: Essential Performance Pique Polo
Over the past year, G/FORE has really promoted their “All Play” polos. It features a performance fabric, that feels more like a cotton polo than your typical performance shirt.
It has a great collar, and it’s exceedingly comfortable.
Yet, time and time again, I find myself going back to my old standby: the Essential Performance Pique Polo.
I absolutely love this polo. The feel, the look, the structure. This is the golf shirt I put on when I want to feel comfortable and confident. It works great both on and off the course.
I’ve learned that I simply prefer pique shirts over typical performance fabric shirts. The All Play actually wears more like a cotton polo, which I love. And it’s the reason I also like it more than many other polyester performance shirts.
But the Performance Pique? It just does it for me, and I always have 2 or 3 packed on every golf trip I take.
At $110, it’s a reliable, good-looking polo for on and off the golf course. Use the code G4BREAKINGEIGHTY10 to bring it to under $100.
As soon as I wore this polo for the first time, I went to G/FORE's website and bought two more. This has been my summer staple.
Best Lightweight Layering Piece: Soft Touch Jersey 1/4 Zip
If you don’t want the robust quarter zip I just talked about and you’re looking for something lighter weight, this is it.
The Soft Touch Jersey 1/4 Zip is a stretchy performance material, but it honestly feels more like cotton. It’s just a really solid, comfortable pullover that I’ve been enjoying a lot.
This has been more of a summer and fall layering piece for me, as opposed to the heavier Double Knit. It’s perfect for those rounds where you need just a little something extra in the morning but don’t want to be too warm by the time you’re into your round.
This is another one of those great staple pieces that every golfer finds tons of use for. I think the $130 price is fair for what you’re getting. And the code G4BREAKING8010 knocks it down a little further, so definitely check that out.
Something like this is essential in any regular golfer's wardrobe. You need a piece that's light enough for those conditions where it's just chilly enough to require a layer but still warm enough that you don't want anything heavy. This is that piece for me.
My Favorite G/FORE Lifestyle Pieces
This past year, I’ve found myself wearing G/FORE just as much off the course as on it. When I can find a brand where I know what to expect in terms of style, fit, and build – it makes me want to go deeper. And I’m so glad I did, as the items below have been some of my favorite items in my closet.
Most Luxurious Piece: Cashmere Hooded Sweater
OK, I get that not everybody needs a cashmere hoodie. And I definitely get that not everybody is going to go for one that costs $495.
No, this isn’t cheap. But, man, is it nice. It looks and feels amazing. And if you do happen to be looking for something higher-end and luxurious, I think this is as good of a hoodie as you can ever hope to find.
The cashmere is incredibly soft and breathable. And it works as a layering piece or on its own. You can wear it on the course, to a nice dinner, or just around town if you’re careful with it. This is seriously the one piece of clothing I own where I think, “Should I wear this? I don’t want to mess it up.”
The fit on this hooded sweater is really good, though I do wish it was about a half an inch longer. I have a long torso and shorter legs, so that’s pretty much true for everything I wear. But overall, it’s very comfortable whether it’s a little chilly or a little warm.
Nobody needs a cashmere hoodie. But if you want one, this is the one to get.
With code G4BREAKING8010, you can knock about $50 off that price, which makes it at least a bit more reasonable.
Soft, warm, breathable... This thing is nice! Yes, it's $495. But if you want true premium luxury in a hooded sweater, here it is.
Casual, Yet Elevated: Johnny Collar Cotton Cooling Sweater
Considering how much I’ve loved G/FORE golf clothes, I’ve started to lean into some more lifestyle, fashion-forward items this year as well.
There are two new items in particular.
I wouldn’t say I’m the most fashionable person, and I’m not one who typically gets complimented on my style.
But with both of these pieces, nearly every time I wear them, someone says something about how good it looks.
The first is the Johnny Collar sweater polo. This thing is super comfortable, elevated, yet still casual, and has become a staple of my wardrobe.
It’s a little on the short side, which I’ve found is the case with a lot of G/FORE items, but outside of that, it’s a wonderful addition to my wardrobe.
While you could totally rock this on the golf course, it has become my favorite sweater for a nice dinner out, or any occasional where I want to feel elevated, yet still casual.
Favorite Lifestyle Piece: LTD Edition Stretch Drill Overshirt
The only item I get more compliments on than the sweater above is this sturdy overshirt. The Italian stretch cotton twill is very well constructed, and it looks the part.
You can wear this buttoned up, or just as easily throw it over a t-shirt or hoodie – making it super versatile. Not something you’d wear on the golf course, but it’s a great example of how G/FORE isn’t just a golf brand.
If you’re a fan of G/FORE clothes, like the fit, and are ok with their price point, then this is the perfect example of why you should consider looking at some of their lifestyle options as well.
This is purely a lifestyle piece. But I've gotten so many compliments on it when wearing it out. Buttoned up, unbuttoned over a hoodie or t-shirt - it's super versatile, and looks every bit of its relatively high price point.
Final Thoughts on G/FORE
There you go. These are the 10 G/FORE things I’m currently loving. There’s a ton from this brand that I think is really interesting. All of their stuff has the same quality standard. And, yeah, the prices are on the premium side, but the materials and craftsmanship are better.
If you like these and want some more recommendations, here are some of my previous favorite G/FORE options:
Now, every time I do a post like this focused on one brand, someone’s going to say it’s sponsored. It’s not. I’m not sponsored by G/FORE or anyone else.
If you click the links or use the code, I get a commission. They occasionally send me stuff to review, but I have zero obligation to talk about any of it. I also buy plenty of their stuff because I like it that much.
So, if you feel like that makes me biased, I completely understand. I just want to get that out there. But I think if you look at our other reviews, you’ll see that we give things a fair shake. I wrote this post because this is a brand I like enough to spotlight.
One more thing worth mentioning is that twice a year, G/FORE does a big sale to clear out old stock. During their last one, I personally bought some things that had dropped as low as 70% off. So keep an eye out.
Recent Updates:
April 28th, 2026: Added the Performance Pique Polo, and removed the All Play Polo (although I still love that one too). Added G.112.2 shoes, Gallivanter shoes, Johnny Collar Cotton Sweater, Stretch Drill Overshirt, and the Everyday Shorts.
